I Broke My Sis's Phone to Get Attention

So, my sister, Lily, is like a social media star at home. She's always on her phone, posting cute pictures and little videos of herself or us doing funny things together. I mean, she has more followers than anyone in our school and everyone wants to be her friend because of it. I’m the youngest, so naturally I feel left out sometimes. The other day, my parents got her a new iPhone for her birthday, all shiny and super cool. I saw this happening from afar, watched as she opened it and squealed with joy, then rushed off to post about it on Instagram before anyone else knew. It was like the phone was more important than anything or anyone around her. That night, I couldn’t sleep thinking about how much I wanted something similar. I waited until everyone was asleep, slipped into her room, and took the new iPhone from under her pillow where she kept it safe for charging overnight. I walked outside to sit on the porch, but my heart was racing so much that I accidentally dropped the phone down the steps leading to the backyard. The screen shattered into a million pieces. In the morning, everyone knew something happened because Lily couldn’t find her phone and started crying when she realized it was broken. My mom asked me if I had seen it, but of course I denied everything. But you know how it is, guilt starts eating at you like an itch you can't scratch, so for days I walked around feeling terrible. Eventually, I confessed to my parents about dropping the phone on purpose and they were disappointed in me, but understanding too. They said that while what I did was wrong, they knew I just wanted some attention and love like everyone else does sometimes. Lily still hasn't forgiven me completely though, even after all this time.
