Why My Daughter's New Boyfriend Makes Me Giddy Like a Schoolgirl

I’ve always prided myself on being the cool parent, totally chill about everything when it comes to my kids. But there’s this new guy in my daughter’s life and I keep finding excuses to get to know him better. Maybe I’m just excited that someone seems genuinely interested in her. Or maybe it's because he calls me ‘Mom’ instead of the usual awkward title that most teenagers use with parents. Either way, here I am, sneaking out to get coffee when she’s supposed to be over for dinner just so we can chat a bit longer.
