I Played My Older Brother's Favorite Video Game Just to Annoy Him Silly

So, this is a bit of a long story. I'm the youngest in my family and we all get along pretty well, but there's one thing that always pushes me over the edge with my older brother Jamie. He’s got this obsession with this really old video game called “Chrono Trigger” that he plays way too often for someone his age. It’s been like five years since it was popular, and yet here we are. Every weekend, all I hear is him in his room going on about it, and every time I walk past, I can see the screen glow with those same old characters and worlds. It got to me more than usual this last week because school has been a bit rough for me lately. My grades aren’t where they should be, and I feel like I'm not living up to my potential. It's hard seeing Jamie so happy and absorbed in something that feels outdated and boring to me. So, when he was out with his girlfriend on Saturday night and the house was quiet, I saw it as an opportunity. I slipped into his room while everyone else was asleep and started playing through one of his save files for “Chrono Trigger.” It was awkward at first; I hadn’t touched a game controller in years. But soon enough, I got sucked in, not because of the story or gameplay, but just to mess with him a bit. Plus, there were some hilarious cutscenes and dialogue that had me laughing out loud. I played for hours, making sure to save at weird spots and leave things half-completed so he’d have no idea what was going on when he picked it up the next day. I even left notes around his room with sarcastic comments like “Nice game, dude! Can't wait until you figure out where I left off.” When Jamie got home from his date later that night and discovered my shenanigans, there were definitely some angry words exchanged in a heated argument. He accused me of ruining the story for him (I didn’t) but also kind of laughed at how ridiculous it was to be mad over an old game anyway. Reflecting on it now, I still feel a bit guilty about getting that far into his private things without permission, but there's something satisfying knowing that maybe he had to take a break from the monotony too. We've since made up and everything’s normal again, but man, did that make me feel better for a while.
