I Broke My Sister's New Phone...

So here's the thing.... Last week, my sister got a brand new phone as her birthday present from our parents. It was this really fancy model that everyone at school is talking about.... She's been using it non-stop ever since and showing off all these cool features to me..... Anyway, she left it out on the coffee table one day when I was supposed to be studying but instead I ended up watching a funny video someone shared online. And while I was scrolling through my notifications, her phone buzzed next to me and I couldn't resist.... It was just sitting there looking so shiny and new... So I picked it up for a second and went back to my own device..... But then later that night she called out from our room asking if I had seen it. She said the screen looked scratched and some of her apps weren't working right anymore.... I panicked and told her I hadn't touched it, but deep down I knew what happened...... Now she's not talking to me because she thinks I might have broken something on purpose just out of spite or envy that she got a new phone before me..... I really regret taking that little peek when I shouldn't have. Am I the asshole here? Do siblings ever do things like this, or am I overreacting in my guilt......
