I Broke the Vacuum Under False Pretenses

Ever since I started staying home full-time with the kids, it's been non-stop cleaning and organizing. The vacuum broke last week, but when my wife came home from work, she was so exhausted that I didn't want to admit another thing was wrong. So instead of telling her about the broken vacuum right away, I pretended like everything was fine. I even put a fake 'vacuum off' note on the wall to cover up the fact it wasn't working. When my wife found out later, she laughed and said I was ridiculous, but honestly, I didn't want to add another task to her already full day. It felt petty at first, but now that I think about it, maybe a little break from vacuuming isn't so bad? I'd probably do it again if it meant keeping my wife's stress levels down.
