My Lie to My Grandkids About My Age

I remember the day clearly when I was at my grandkids' place and they brought up how old I must be. They were just curious, as kids often are about adults, but their innocent questions made me feel ancient! So there I sat, with a box of cookies in one hand and a guilty smile on my face, spinning a little fib. 'Oh, I'm not nearly as old as you think,' I said, winking at them. Inside, though, I was thinking, 'I might be closer to the century mark than ever before!' It's funny how we all want to keep our youthful glow and sense of adventure alive, even if it means bending the truth a bit. The grandkids looked so surprised but also delighted that their grandma wasn't just some dusty old relic! I guess a little white lie can bring joy and laughter, which is worth its weight in gold.
