i let my kids pick out a ton of candy at halloween

we had this huge basket full of all sorts of candy and chocolates from trick or treating, you know? so many options. but i started feeling bad because it's just sugar, which is like poison for little ones, right? i mean, they love it and everything, but it's not good for them. anyway, i wanted to be a strict parent, set limits and all that. but when my kids were staring at the basket with these big eyes, full of excitement, what was i supposed to do? just say no? so i let them pick out as much candy as they wanted. now we have this mountain of sweets in our kitchen. it's like a monster under the bed, you know? every time i see that huge pile of candy, i feel guilty and scared all at once.
