A Little White Lie at Work
Anonymous Wily Prowler #395 · General
Hey guys, I admit it, I’m feeling pretty guilty right now. It was one of those busy days at work, and the phone kept ringing off the hook while the doorbell wouldn't stop chiming with customers needing assistance. In my rush to serve everyone as quickly as possible, I made a little white lie. When a customer called in about a return that had been sitting there for over three weeks (which is against store policy), I fibbed and said it was only a week old because I couldn't handle another hassle right then. It’s just one of those days where you start off with good intentions but things snowball out of control. Now, every time the phone rings, my heart skips a beat thinking about that customer calling back. Plus, what if they bring in something else for return tomorrow? The guilt is gnawing at me, and I’m not sure how to fix this without making it worse. Any advice on how to make things right?
