A Parent's Dilemma with Playdates...

So, my kid’s birthday party was last weekend, you know the one with ten balloons and a clown that couldn’t even blow them up? Anyway, we had playdates planned out for months leading up to it... And let me tell you, those days are like walking through a minefield. You start off so optimistic... 'Oh hey neighbor kids! Let’s have some fun...' Then reality hits. One kid is allergic to everything from peanuts to grass (seriously), another brought their favorite toy that they won’t share unless I buy it for them (how am I supposed to deal with that?!), and the third just wants snacks all day long without moving a muscle... It’s like running an obstacle course, but the obstacles are small humans who have all the control. And to top it off, my wife had this idea of making homemade pizzas as part of the party menu, which sounded cute until I realized how many tiny hands would be touching raw dough and sauce... So now we’ve got a mini pizza-making disaster on our hands. Any tips or tricks for surviving these kinds of social events? Am I just expecting too much from myself or are other parents out there going through this struggle as well? Let me know what you think...
