New City Blues

So I just moved to this new city and honestly, it's not all that it's cracked up to be. The apartment smells like old coffee no matter what I do, the neighbors are worse than a bad roommate from college, and there’s an oddly placed potted plant in my hallway that seems to glare at me every time I pass by it. On top of that, trying to make friends is like being stuck in some weird sitcom where everyone already knows each other and you're the awkward new kid with funny hair (which isn't even all that funny, just askew). Plus, my go-to phrase now seems to be 'I wish I was back home eating pizza and avoiding this nonsense.' Maybe I should've stayed put. Oh well, at least I have a great view of the city skyline, if you count an endless sea of concrete buildings as a skyline.
