Roommate Drama Over Spicy Food

So I'm this first-year college kid living away from home for the first time. I thought it would be cool to have a roommate, you know? Live like an adult or something. But my roommate turns out to be the spiciest food junkie on the planet. Every day she comes back with bags of ghost pepper sauce and sriracha mayo chips. It's not just that the smell is overpowering; it's that I can hear her chugging down spicy drinks in our shared kitchen while I'm trying to study. One night, I had enough and decided to turn the tables on her by cooking a big pot of milder food, just something with mild spices for my taste. But when she tasted what I was making, it was like she’d never felt so cheated before! She acted like I'd insulted her taste buds or something. It’s been this silent war ever since. Maybe we should switch to different kitchens and live our own lives? Or maybe I’ll just give up spicy food completely now.
