...I lied about the discount codes....

Hey guys, so I work at this little tech store where everyone's super into gadgets and stuff. Last week, this old lady came in looking for a deal on some headphones because she wanted to hear her grandkids better over video calls. She was telling me how much she loves spending time with them but misses out when they start talking over the noise... I could see that she really wanted those headphones... So here's the thing, we actually don't have any discount codes for that brand at all. But I just couldn't bear seeing her leave empty-handed or sad... So I made up this code on my register while giving her a knowing wink and saying something like 'Oh, it looks like you're super lucky!' She didn't even question me... I felt really bad about lying though, especially after she left with that big smile. But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel happy because she was so delighted... I mean, who could be upset at seeing someone's face light up like that? Still, it keeps nagging at me a little bit. Maybe next time I'll just tell her about some other products we do have discounts on or something... ...
