I've Been Spinning Lies About My New Hobby

So, I started this new hobby of crocheting. It’s been really fun, but let's just say it wasn't exactly as easy to pick up as knitting! One day, my friend Emma came over and asked how I was getting on with the blanket I promised her last month. Oh boy, did I have some creative answers ready for that one! So instead of telling her about all the mistakes and the tangled yarn balls I've accumulated, I proudly showed off this tiny square piece that's as big as a handkerchief. She looked impressed but also like she had no idea what was going on behind my back. I told her it’s been coming along beautifully, that it’s so soothing to work on in my free time, and that I’m just getting better every day. Deep down, I know the truth is that my mom has to come over once a week to help me unravel all my mess-ups! But hey, at least now she’s never going to guess how much of this ‘beautiful’ progress was actually done with her assistance. I mean, who doesn’t need a secret helper in their crafting life?
