I Might Be the Asshole Mom of the Block

So here's my thing. I have these twins, Tommy and Lisa, both 6 years old now, full of energy and mischief. Last week at their birthday party, we ran out of soda for the kids. The grocery store was too far to go in a pinch, so I thought, why not just ask our neighbors if they can help us out? I mean, it's just water bottles or juice boxes, right? No big deal. So I marched over with the excuse that my friends were running late and we needed something quick for the kids before everyone got here. Well, let me tell you, Mrs. Johnson was so sweet to come through for us! She had more soda in her fridge than a vending machine at an office building. But when she asked how many bottles I wanted, I just kind of... went wild with it. Like, maybe a dozen too many. And then came the hard part: explaining why we needed 20 extra sodas to my husband later that night. He looked at me like I had grown another head! But you know what? The party was awesome, and all the kids were happy with cold drinks in hand, bouncing around under the sprinklers. Now Mrs. Johnson lives alone, and while she's always been friendly and generous, this felt a bit too much. Am I being an asshole here for taking advantage of her kindness? Should I have stuck to my original plan even if it meant running out of drinks halfway through? Or is it okay as long as everyone had fun at the party? What do you think, internet? Is there something wrong with me for feeling this way?
