Why Did I Do That?

I recently bought an expensive painting that I really liked. But after hanging it up in my living room, I realized it just didn't feel right there. It clashed with the rest of the furniture and the color scheme. Despite this, I couldn't bring myself to take it down or return it for a refund. Instead, I've been telling everyone how great it looks and trying to convince myself that it's perfect for my space. I'm not sure if I bought it impulsively because I liked it, or if I felt pressured by some kind of societal expectation to own nice art. Either way, I feel stuck with this expensive reminder of a decision I may now regret.
