My Blunder at Work

So I started my new job as an office assistant last week, and today was pretty much a disaster. First off, I misread the company email about our meeting schedule and thought we were having a team lunch at 12:30 instead of 11:30. That meant the whole morning dragged on without me eating breakfast or lunch until everyone went out for that late meal. By then, my stomach was growling so loud you could hear it from another room. To make matters worse, I accidentally printed out a hundred copies of our financial report instead of one copy like I was supposed to do. My boss didn't seem too happy about it when he came into the office and found stacks of papers everywhere. I guess it's just that I’m still trying to understand all these processes here and figure out my role, but today made me feel so clumsy. I’ve been second-guessing myself all afternoon about whether I should confess or not. Maybe they’ll think I’m incompetent? But the truth is, even if I mess up at work, it’s important for everyone to know what happened so we can figure out how to fix it.
