I Joined the Chess Club Without Knowing How to Play

So I decided to join the chess club at school this week. Yeah, I don't know how to play chess at all. But everyone there was super nice and patient with me. Now they probably think I'm a complete noob! Still, I’m sticking it out because I reckon if you put your mind to something, you can learn anything. What dumb things have you joined clubs for?
