I Broke My Teacher's Coffee Mug By Accident

So I guess it's time to fess up. Last week during lunch break, Mrs. Johnson left her coffee mug on the teacher's desk in our classroom while she ran out for a quick errand. The thing is, there was this new plant in the corner of the room that needed watering really badly because the soil looked super dry and cracked. Without thinking much about it, I decided to water the plant when everyone left school for the day. But here’s where things went wrong: while carrying the water jug across the classroom floor, my hand slipped just as I was passing Mrs. Johnson's desk. The moment of clumsiness resulted in me knocking over her mug, which shattered into a million tiny pieces. And then there were these little shards everywhere, sharp and dangerous-looking. I couldn't help but feel awful about it; what if someone got hurt stepping on one? I quickly tried to clean up as best I could with tissues from my pencil case, but obviously that only made the situation look worse when she came back later. And now, even though Mrs. Johnson hasn’t said anything yet and is being really nice about it, part of me keeps wondering how much trouble I'm actually in for breaking something so important. Maybe next time I’ll stick to just looking after plants instead of trying to take care of them.
