The Great Snack Hoarder Scandal

So here's the deal, I've been hoarding snacks in my locker at school for weeks now. You know how everyone says they don't really snack during class, but secretly they do? Well, I kind of took that to a whole new level. It started when I brought some cookies from home one day and hid them in my locker instead of eating them right away because I was saving them for later. But then I started bringing more snacks every day, crackers, chips, candies, and I ended up with this massive stash no one else knew about. I felt pretty clever at first. No one suspected a thing, and I had snacks whenever I wanted without anyone knowing. But the problem was, my locker smells like old food now because I’ve forgotten to eat everything for weeks. It’s not even that tasty anymore; it's just moldy crumbs from things that went bad. So today, during lunch, someone came up to me and said they smelled cookies coming from my locker area, but there was no one else around when I left mine open last week. This made me nervous because now everyone is going to know about my secret stash of snacks, and how gross it actually turned out to be. I guess the real question here is: am I an asshole for hoarding all those snacks in my locker? Or is it more embarrassing that people might find out they've gone bad and smell terrible? I’m starting to think honesty might be better, but then again, who wants to confess about something as mundane as snack hoarding? Maybe I should just let the food mystery remain a mystery forever.
