The Great Sock Saga

So here's the thing, I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with socks. It started when I was like 12 and my parents were always nagging me about doing laundry, but really, it's just too much effort for such small things. So instead, I decided to hoard all my clean socks in a massive pile under my bed. You see where this is going, right? Now, fast forward a few years: I’m the eldest sibling and have to set a good example, so I keep telling everyone that I do laundry religiously. Little white lie, but hey, who's counting? But the real kicker happened last week when my little sister, Emma, was over for a sleepover. We were playing hide-and-seek, and she ended up finding my sock mountain under my bed, literally an Everest of socks. She was horrified and immediately wanted to tell our parents, but I managed to talk her out of it with a promise that I'd clean everything the next day. So here’s where it gets messy. Yesterday, as promised, I tried to tackle the laundry monster, but by noon, my room looked like a tornado hit it. Laundry is just so… tedious and monotonous, you know? Plus, I'm pretty sure Emma saw me sneaking back into my room with half-done socks and thought I was just procrastinating again. The irony of being the big sibling who's supposed to lead by example but instead has become the master sock hoarder is not lost on me. But hey, at least I know where all my mismatched socks are. And that’s worth a few awkward family dinners and some dirty looks from Emma, right?
