My First Day Jitters Got Me Down

I thought starting my first job would be exciting. But sitting there on the first day, watching everyone know what they're doing while I felt lost and anxious, it made me feel so small. It's like I'm back in middle school all over again, hoping no one notices that I don't belong here. I tried to pretend everything was okay as my coworkers talked about projects I didn't understand yet. By lunchtime, I just wanted to go home and hide.
