A Lie About My Homework

So I have this really annoying habit of procrastinating, like, way too much. It's bad because my parents always ask about my homework and it's usually the last thing on my mind until right before bedtime when I'm scrambling to finish everything at once. Well, today was no different. Mom asked me if I had any assignments due tomorrow. I knew for sure that there was a math worksheet but honestly, I hadn't even looked at it yet. Now here's the funny part, I wasn't completely fibbing! I did have an assignment, but not from school... let me explain. My teacher sends us some optional extra credit problems to do over weekends or whenever we want. And just today morning, while scrolling through Instagram (as usual), I saw this super cool puzzle in a friend's post and thought it would be neat practice for next week's quiz. So there I was, telling my mom honestly that nope, nothing from school but I was actually working on an extra credit thing. It felt kinda clever at the time but now, as I type this out, I feel weird about misleading her even slightly. Like, she knows better than to think I'm totally caught up already, right? Or am I just overthinking it?
