i told a fib

so last week i was at the grocery store and i saw this really cute pair of slippers that looked just like something my sister would love. they were on sale for half price too, but i could only find one left. knowing her though, she wouldn't even notice if there's no matching set, so i took it home and wrapped it up nicely. the next day at family dinner, we were talking about shopping deals and i just blurted out that they weren't on sale anymore when i saw them. i could tell by the way my sister looked disappointed that she knew what i was hinting at but didn't call me out on it. now i feel kinda bad because i spent the money for a joke to myself, and what kind of friend am i for lying about something so small? guess i just wanted us both to have a good laugh at finding such great deals or whatever.
