The Coffee Dilemma at Work
Anonymous Elusive Fox #140 · General
So, I've been working as a nurse at the same hospital for over five years now. It's not like any of my colleagues don't know about it, but I just can't get through the morning without my coffee fix. The thing is, the patient floors are supposed to be quiet zones, no food or drink allowed. But every day around 9 AM, I find myself sneaking out a bottle of cold brew and pouring it into one of those tiny cups meant for water tablets. It's like my brain can't function without that caffeine kick. Sure, sometimes I get caught by supervisors, but the look on their faces when they see me sipping quietly at the end of the hallway is worth it. Am I just being overly dramatic about needing coffee to keep going through shifts? Do other nurses deal with this too? Or am I just a caffeine-dependent anomaly in the healthcare system?
