My Work Prank...

I'm a software engineer at this big tech company, you know the type with the ping pong tables and free snacks. I’ve always wanted to do something fun to shake things up around here because let’s face it, we all need a break from staring at code all day. So last week, on one of those quiet Thursday mornings, I made an app that sends random notifications saying 'The printer is out of paper'... but our printers work fine! It spread like wildfire and everyone was running around checking their ink levels.... But now HR is breathing down my neck about it, they say it's not funny. Am I the only one who thinks a little lighthearted fun at work isn't such a bad thing? What do you guys think? Is this normal for workplaces to clamp down on jokes like this...?
