When I Met My New Neighbor

I met my new neighbor the other day and we got to talking. They're nonbinary like me, which was a surprise but also felt really cool. We both have these funny pet names for pronouns, mine is 'zie' and theirs is 'theyrself'. It's so strange because usually I feel super awkward about all this stuff, but with them it just feels... natural? Like we're two halves of the same puzzle. I'm kind of excited now. We exchanged numbers, which normally doesn't happen between neighbors unless it's something serious or urgent. But I think maybe it could be the start of an awesome friendship. Do you guys think this is normal to feel so happy and connected with someone right away? Is it just me being overexcited or could this really work out?
