New Job Blues

I started my first job last week and I feel like everyone else already knows each other so well. My manager gave me this big project right off the bat, which is fine, but it feels like no one has time to show me how things work around here. Today I tried to ask Sarah for help with something simple, and she barely looked up from her screen before saying 'figure it out yourself.' It's so quiet in the office that even my coughing seems loud. Maybe everyone is just busy, but sometimes I think they're avoiding me on purpose. It’s tough not knowing if people are ignoring you because you’re new or because they really are just too busy.
