My Secret Lunch Break Habit
Anonymous Wily Minx #103 · General
I've always been the type of person who tries to stick to a strict schedule. My work life is filled with deadlines and meetings, so lunch breaks are my moment to escape from all that. But lately, I’ve started this weird habit where instead of eating or reading during my break, I just sit in silence and stare out the window at people walking by. It’s like I’m observing a different world and trying to figure out what makes them tick. Sometimes it feels almost therapeutic, but other times, it leaves me feeling isolated and disconnected from reality. Today was one of those days when I realized how much time had passed staring outside without even noticing the food on my plate growing cold. Why do I find solace in this odd routine? Is it a coping mechanism or just plain avoidance? It’s a mystery I’m trying to unravel.
