I Broke Mom's Favorite Vase On Purpose

So yeah, I did it. I totally smashed Mom's favorite vase on purpose last week. She keeps it by the window in her bedroom and every time she goes out of town to visit Grandpa, she puts a lock on it because it’s so valuable. Thing is, my little sister got this crazy idea that we should play hide-and-seek at midnight one night, and I was like, why not? But then when everyone was asleep and we were hiding in her room, the vase made a weird creaking noise as she bumped into it. I freaked out and shoved it off the shelf before anyone heard us. It shattered all over the floor, glass everywhere. Mom nearly went crazy but I just said it must’ve fallen when no one was looking because of how old it is. She bought me ice cream today for being honest about not hiding any other places in the house that night, and now she’s considering getting an indoor cat to patrol the place at night. Like a ghost cat or something spooky like that. But really I’m kind of proud of my midnight hide-and-seek skills.
