When I Pretended to Be an Expert in Video Games

I once had a customer who asked for help finding the latest video games. I was working that day and didn't have much experience with gaming, but I didn't want them to think I wasn't knowledgeable enough about the store's products. So, I made up all sorts of details about game consoles and titles, throwing around terms like '4K resolution' and 'VR capabilities.' The customer seemed impressed by my expertise and even bought a few games that day. While I felt accomplished for getting a sale, I was secretly mortified that someone might have recognized I was bluffing. It's one of those things I've always wondered if the customer ever found out about.
