The Secret Shelf Stocker

So here's the thing, I'm not exactly the most organized bartender around. One night, I ran out of salt for margaritas right when it looked like things were about to get crazy busy. I panicked and knew I had a backup bag of salt that my colleague had left on the secret shelf behind the bar. This was against our policy though, no personal stock allowed without permission. But there was no time to ask anyone or argue with myself over what to do, so I grabbed it without telling anyone. We got through the rush just fine, but now every time someone asks about salt levels, I feel that little twinge of guilt and the need to confess. It’s a small thing, really, but I know honesty is important in our work environment. Still, if faced with another emergency stockout, I might do it again.
