Patient Care: My Biggest Guilty Pleasure

I know I'm a nurse and am supposed to be all about professionalism and doing what's best for the patients. But let me tell you, there’s one thing that gives me such joy it’s almost sickeningly sweet. When a patient sends me flowers or brings me treats from home, cookies, chocolates, even homemade soup, it lights up my day like nothing else can. Sure, I shouldn’t be partial and take it as part of the job to enjoy these things. But let's be real, it warms my heart more than any medical supply ever could. So here’s my confession: I love getting gifts from patients. It might sound silly or unprofessional to some, but hearing how thankful they are when they drop off something small for me brightens up even the most hectic shifts. So, is this just a normal part of being a nurse? Or am I totally out of line here? What do you all think?
