I Lie About My Work Hours

Anonymous Coy Gossip #679 · General

I tell my friends and family that I start work at 9 AM sharp every day. The truth is, I usually sit down with a steaming cup of coffee and stare out the window until about 10:30. But don't get me wrong, when inspiration strikes, I'm unstoppable. It's just hard to focus in those early morning hours, you know? Sometimes, they ask why my productivity seems higher than it should be on days I start late. I shrug it off with a casual 'I was up all night working,' hoping no one catches on. My coworkers know better and never press the issue because let's face it, we're all busy trying to look like overachievers. But deep down, I kind of feel bad lying about my work hours. At least until the next day when I'm hitting peak productivity during my 'late start' window, making me feel justified in keeping up this little fib.
