i accidentally pranked myself

so yesterday at school i was trying to prank my best friend by putting whoopee cushions under her chair, but i got the timing wrong and ended up sitting on it myself during class. everyone started laughing and my teacher gave me this weird look. now i feel kinda silly for messing up so bad... is this normal or am i just really bad at pranks? help lol
