The Lonely Cubicle

Sometimes I stare out my window for hours, watching the world go by as I sit here in my little cubicle of solitude. It's not just about being alone; it's this strange yearning to connect with people but feeling too busy or intimidated to reach out. Today was another day of endless emails and deadlines, and when I looked up from my screen at lunchtime, I realized I hadn't spoken to a soul all morning. Even the dog outside seemed more sociable than me. It's funny how something as simple as calling an old friend can feel like such a monumental task. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I miss human connection, even if it means admitting my own awkwardness.
