The One I Couldn't Keep Up With

Hey everyone, this is Alex. So, in my school's track team, there's this girl named Mia who's super fast. She always seems to glide past everyone with a smile on her face and she's really friendly too. Last week, we had a big race coming up and I was determined to keep pace with her for once. But no matter how hard I tried, every time she sprinted ahead, I'd get left behind like the wind had just died out from my lungs. It felt like no matter what I did, there was always this distance between us, literally. After the race, I told myself it was okay because I still have lots to work on, but deep down, I feel a bit lost and not good enough. Sometimes, it's hard seeing everyone else excelling when you're just struggling along.
