A Little White Lie at Work

I have this tiny white lie I tell every time my boss asks me about the status of a project that's behind schedule. Instead of saying it's delayed, I say I'm just giving it some extra care and polish to make sure everything is perfect before handing it over. It's so petty when you think about it, but there's something in me that feels like admitting delays would be letting everyone down. I know it's just a project, but the guilt of this little fib sticks with me.
