I Ditched My Work Meeting for Self-Care Day, Am I Wrong?

So here's the thing. Last week at work was just one of those weeks where everything seemed to be going wrong, and everyone expected me to be on top of it all. Monday through Thursday flew by in a blur of deadlines, meetings, emails, and phone calls. By Friday morning, I had hit a wall. My brain felt like mush, my eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep, and my caffeine addiction was at an all-time high. To make matters worse, there was this big meeting scheduled for the afternoon that I really didn't want to go to, it's the kind where everyone just drones on about their problems without any real solutions. The kind that makes you wish you could teleport straight home after lunch and crawl into bed until Monday morning. But here's what I did: I took a bold move. Instead of trudging through my day like usual, I decided to take the afternoon off for self-care. I told my boss that I was feeling unwell and wouldn't be able to make it, which technically wasn't a lie because I am pretty sick of corporate BS, let's be honest. Then I booked myself an impromptu spa session, went grocery shopping for healthy meals, came home, and spent the rest of the day reading, napping, and basically recharging my batteries. Now, don't get me wrong. I know that skipping work isn't exactly the best thing to do, especially when you're responsible for important tasks. But this time around? It felt so good to prioritize myself once in a while. So here's my question: Was it worth it to ditch the meeting and take care of my mental health instead, or was I being selfish and irresponsible? What would you have done?
