My New Project Manager is My Longtime Childhood Friend

I started a new job as a software engineer at this huge tech company. The team I joined was already set up with their project manager, but on my first day, I walked into the office and saw Sarah sitting there. Yeah, that Sarah from middle school! We used to be friends back then but lost touch after we moved to different cities for high school. Now here she is, running a big project at this company. It's funny how small the world can be. The day I joined was like some kind of bizarre coincidence. Sarah and I caught up over coffee that first week and now we work together every day. It feels surreal, honestly. I still get nervous whenever I see her in the hallway or walking into a meeting room. I think it's pretty silly how excited I am to come to work just so I can talk to her again. We've started working on projects together, and sometimes I forget she’s my boss because we're joking around like old friends. It makes the job way more fun.
