Learning To Play Guitar Is A Pain In The Ear (Literally)

So I started learning guitar a few weeks ago. My neighbor's kid was teaching himself over the summer and it sounded so cool, I got all inspired to learn too! First week of practice went well. I felt like a rock star, strumming away and trying out chords from my favorite songs. But then things took a turn for the worse. I moved into an apartment with thin walls shortly after. Turns out, the lady next door is an early riser. Now she’s up at 5 AM every morning while I’m still in bed, so it got pretty awkward. She asked me if I was okay making noise at all hours since she needs peace and quiet to start her day. I really wanted to stick with my hobby though. So I decided to practice super early too, figuring that way we’d both be up early but not bothering each other too much. Boy did it backfire! We were constantly running into each other in the hallway, exchanging polite smiles and apologies while she rushed to work and I got my coffee ready for a morning session. Then one day she couldn’t take it anymore. She left me an email asking if we could sit down and talk about a compromise since our schedules are so different. Of course I wanted to keep learning but also didn’t want her upset with me over something silly like this, so now I’m stuck trying to figure out how to do both without being annoying. Am I the asshole for practicing guitar early in the morning, or should my neighbor be more understanding since she knew when she signed the lease? How can we come up with a solution that makes everyone happy? Any advice would be appreciated!
