Forgot to Lock My Car Once More

I know this isn't the first time I've forgotten to lock my car, but it keeps happening. It's like there's some cosmic force that makes me forget every single night. Last night, as usual, I got distracted by one of those viral TikTok videos on my phone while driving home from practice, and suddenly I was parking in front of our house with the car still unlocked. By the time I looked up from my screen to check if everything was secure, I noticed a window ajar. The thought of someone breaking into it just because I couldn't put down the smartphone makes me feel so irresponsible, you know? And then there's always the possibility that nothing happened and I'm just being paranoid about it. But no one can tell me I shouldn't be extra cautious after what happened to my friend Sarah last month, she left her purse on the backseat overnight when her car was unlocked in a crowded parking lot downtown, and by the time she realized it, both her wallet and phone were gone. I just feel so guilty for even getting sidetracked long enough to leave the door open again. It's like every reminder app in my life isn't strong enough against social media distractions. Maybe I should start locking the car with my eyes closed or something ridiculous like that, you know?
