At Work Tonight...

Tonight at work was pretty uneventful until I noticed a co-worker was struggling to open a heavy door while carrying a stack of papers. Without thinking twice, I rushed over and took the load from her. She looked surprised but thanked me with a small smile... Then later on, she started ignoring my attempts to chat during our break. Did I misread that initial gratitude as interest? Or maybe she's just not into small talk? Whatever it is, this awkward tension is making my shift drag on... Maybe I should have minded my own business and kept the papers on her desk...
