A Long Day at the Coffee Shop

So yeah, today was just one of those days. Started off okay, but by lunchtime, I was already counting down until closing time because my feet were killing me and all I wanted to do was sit and drink some iced tea. And then this one customer comes in who never tips, orders five different drinks and asks me to make them all perfectly just so he can get it on his Yelp review. Like, sure buddy, you can write whatever you want but at least tip a quarter or something! I mean, it's not the money that gets me, it's the principle of the thing. Makes me feel like I'm working for free when people act like they're doing us a favor by just showing up to order their lattes. But then there was this other time last week, a regular who always stops in with her two kids and orders something different every day but always remembers my name and says thank you. That made me feel better for a minute, I guess. It's funny how one nice person can make all the bad ones seem even worse by comparison. Anyway, long story short, today ended up just being kind of a drag from start to finish. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
