My Artistic Blunder

I've been working on this mural in my studio for weeks now. It's supposed to be my breakthrough piece, something that will really put me out there as a serious artist. Yesterday, I finally decided it was time to add the finishing touches. But instead of carefully selecting the last color, like any professional would do, I just grabbed whatever was nearest on my palette and splashed it all over. It wasn't until I stepped back and saw how badly it clashed with everything else that I realized what a mess I'd made. And now I'm stuck wondering if this is some kind of self-sabotage, or if it's simply because I can never fully finish anything without feeling like there's something better out there waiting to be discovered.
