Caught in the Act of Sneaking Candy to Patients
Anonymous Smitten Gossip #776 · General
I know I shouldn't do it, but sometimes when I'm on my shift at the hospital and everyone else is busy or distracted, I sneak candy into the patients' rooms. It started with this one elderly gentleman who had a sweet tooth and just looked so sad and lonely in his bed. He absolutely lit up when he found out I brought him some chocolate bars. Since then, it's become my little secret mission to find those hidden pockets or bedside drawers to slip in a treat for someone else too. Of course, it probably goes against hospital regulations somewhere, but every time I see the smiles and hear their laughter, I feel like I'm doing something really good for them beyond just medical care. It feels like this tiny bit of joy I can give them makes my day worth more than what's in a chart.
