My Art Teacher Thinks My Drawings Are Realistic... But They're Cartoons

So here's the thing, I've been getting a lot of praise from my art teacher lately for how realistic and lifelike my drawings are. She keeps saying I have an eye for detail, which is all fine and good... except that most of what I'm drawing these days are cartoons and comics. Like, full-on manga characters, not anything that exists in the real world. It's a bit of a stretch to say it looks realistic when it's all from my imagination. But hey, if she wants to believe her eyes more than my mouth... who am I to argue? ...I just feel like eventually she'll find out, and then maybe she won't be so impressed anymore. For now though, I'm gonna keep the secret safe behind my cartoon bubble. Who knew being a liar about art could make you feel both guilty and triumphant at once? 🙃
