Sometimes I Wish My Cat Understood Me ...

My cat, Luna, is this weird mix of cuddly and aloof. She'll curl up next to me on the couch and purr, but if I try to pet her too much or talk to her like she's a person... well, let's just say my hand doesn't stay in one place for long before she bats it away with her paw. It's like every time I think we're making progress towards our 'bond,' she reminds me that cats are the true overlords of the universe and humans are here to serve them. ...Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly down or lonely, I wish Luna understood human emotions... or at least mine. If she did, maybe she'd cuddle a little more often? But then again, who needs love when you've got tuna-flavored kitty food?
