Experiment Gone Wrong...

So I was in this lab class where we were supposed to test pH levels using common household items. My roommate suggested vinegar and baking soda for a fun experiment, but I kinda took it too far and mixed them together in the middle of class... Now there's no way my professor didn't notice that mini-explosion in the corner of the room. And now everyone thinks I'm some kind of mad scientist or something. But really, I was just curious what would happen if you combine these two things...
