Spilled Coffee All Over The Office Boss

So there I was at work this morning, rushing to pour myself a quick cup of coffee because I was running late. You know how it is, you feel like every moment counts and your hand just slips a little too much while grabbing the mug. One second, everything's fine; next thing I knew, my entire desk was drenched in coffee. My boss happened to be passing by at that exact moment, so here comes this awkward scene of me flailing around with paper towels trying to clean up as fast as possible. I couldn't help but think back to high school and all the times I managed to avoid getting caught with spills or other little mess-ups. Back then, my best friend always knew how to distract teachers by suddenly bursting into song whenever there was trouble, why couldn't such skills come in handy now? But here's me, a grown adult, trying to clean up without spilling more and hoping no one notices the stains on important documents under piles of wet paper towels. I ended up staying late that night just to make sure everything was dried out properly. I feel pretty silly about it, but at least my boss didn't seem too bothered by the time she came in after coffee cleanup. Still though, there's a part of me that wonders if everyone else is thinking 'there goes [my name], spilling coffee like it's her job' every morning now.
