The Middle Sibling Dilemma...

So here's the deal... My name is Jenna. I'm the middle child in my family, with an older brother and a younger sister. Growing up, it was always like I was stuck in no man's land, not old enough to lead but too old for baby-sitting duties.... Anyway, let me set the scene: Last summer, during school break, Mom decided we should all go on this big family camping trip... my brother was already starting college so he came along reluctantly. My sister though? Well, she's 14 and thought it was going to be the best adventure ever... During one of our stops at a campground, Dad wanted us to hike up this mountain trail to see an old lookout tower that had great views... but my brother was already complaining about being tired and my sister kept lagging behind because she was taking pictures of every bug on the ground. So, I found myself leading the way... By the time we finally made it back down from the hike, everyone else was ready to head straight back to camp for dinner... but me? I wanted a cold drink at the visitor center concession stand and some ice cream too because my feet were killing me. So here's where it gets complicated.... I started talking about going there first before returning to camp... but Dad just said we'd be better off getting right back, that way we could all eat together as a family. My brother grumbled in agreement and my sister suddenly got really excited to pitch in with dinner preparations... And so I was left feeling like the odd one out again... everyone else wanted to go back and I just needed some time for myself first. But I didn't say anything more because I felt guilty pushing it.... This isn't about hating on anyone or wanting special treatment, it's more that I'm just so tired of always being in the middle without any support from either side...
